Can we Help YOU?
Professional & personal experience in the field of diabetes for over 20 years!
ONE OF OUR BIGGEST GOALS
Too many women feel abandoned after Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM). After working with hundreds of women diagnosed with GDM, I've seen a critical gap: the lack of support, education, and community in the crucial years following pregnancy.
It's all too common—you're told both you and your baby face increased risk of type 2 diabetes (T2D), then receive little more than a brochure or link to an online program. You're left to navigate it alone while managing sleep deprivation, baby brain, and the demands of motherhood. This happened to my own sister in her mid-20s after two GDM pregnancies within three years. Despite good intentions, logging on to learn and implement changes as an exhausted new mum proved overwhelming. I knew something had to change.
This is where Healthy Futures After GDM was born. With nearly 30 years living with type 1 diabetes and over 20 years in healthcare as a Credentialled Diabetes Educator/Registered Nurse (former Accredited Exercise Physiologist), I knew I could help my sister—but I knew she'd thrive with a community of women who truly understand.
The goal? Reduce the 50% of women who develop T2D after having GDM. Research shows children of women who have had GDM are also at risk. But here's the crucial part: none of this is inevitable, and you have control. You can enjoy a healthy, fulfilling life while reducing T2D risk for you and your children—without feeling overly restricted. Through lifestyle education, health technology, ongoing strategies, and genuine support, we'll help you succeed.
I've partnered with a compassionate Credentialled Diabetes Educator/ Accredited Practising Dietitian to guide you. Join our private Facebook group for a supportive community of women committed to thriving after GDM, featuring live Q&As, education sessions, shared experiences, and exclusive offers as we grow.
Jaimee Paniora (CDE/RN)
I am a mum, wife, someone living with type 1 diabetes for almost 30 years, and a lover of sports. I've been through pregnancies with diabetes (obviously), including IVF. I love exercising & have done a half ironman triathlon (I did not break any records, but I did finish in a respectable time). I have completed a Tough Mudder with some mates for 'fun'. I do some Parkruns, and lift some weights in the garage with my family. I've been trying to learn guitar for a good 10 years. I am a Nurse, a Credentialled Diabetes Educator and have worked as an Exercise Physiologist in the past. I am in the final year of my Masters of Nurse Practitioner allowing me to offer even more in the diabetes and metabolic health space.
I cry (maybe even with you), I laugh (at myself and with you), I get frustrated, I get angry, I make mistakes, my diabetes management is not always perfect, I eat ice-cream & chocolate at times, & it is NOT all about the numbers (glucose levels and HbA1c - but yes they also matter). If I might be a fit for you, or loved one, don't hesitate to get in touch.

LIVED experience with diabetes
Once upon a time I was embarrassed to tell people I had diabetes. Everything seemed embarrassing as a teenager and young adult. Now I want to use my experience as both a healthcare professional and someone who has lived with type 1 diabetes to help others. I’ve had my ups and downs living with a long-term health condition and can appreciate the physical and mental challenges this can cause. I am an amazing wife (self-proclaimed), and a Mum to our two beautiful boys. I have had some setbacks with some of my life goals along on my journey with diabetes and I reached out to others for help. I now want to share my knowledge and experiences.
